Pronunciation of Cannes and Caen have always been tough for me but Reims defies description. Not sure how Reims comes put Ranch
Had a good ride to Reims with Emelin, Cecile, and Matthueu and it was a tight fit on the car with four people and a bike. Thanks to all involved.
Met my host Pascal and he was nice enough to meet me at McDonalds and go to his house. I spent most of the time on the phone with the insurance people because I got a text from Megumi saying she'd been in an accident. Poor woman was so desperate to have me home that she drove her bike into a truck so I would come home. You so crazy!!! She's ok but the pictures make it look like she's gone a round with Mike Tyson.
So, yesterday was spent running around and making arrangements to go home. Thought I would have to leave the steel horse behind and made plans to give it to a homeless man but Hubert Cycle came through. Once I lose the bike though, I become less mobile. Lots of walking. Last treat was seeing the room where the Germans signed the WWII surrender.
Managed to also get the last bed in the hostel near the TGV (fast train) station. My flight leaves at 8 on Friday but I'm getting there a good 12 hours before to make sure everything goes smoothly.
Now have to begin the ordeal of moving my boxed bike via the transit with a duffel bag to boot. Once I'm in the airport though, everything's gravy!!
