I awoke early, excited about moving down the road. Before I left, Laurent told me that there's lots of glass in the cycle lanes. He also told me that it was going to rain today. Maybe if his printer career doesn't work out he can become a motivational speaker. It's actually just a little cloudy and cool; perfect bike weather. I cross over and find the Pont de Pierre and follow the route which is beautifully paved along the river. I see the Allez David sign and must stop to take a picture.
At Laserne, I start to follow the road to my next checkpoint but decide to follow Laurent's route which is further north. It is so easy to follow and was the old train tracks so I follow the path to Sauveterre. Every few kilometres, there are old train stations which are houses, cafes, or just closed. It is when I start cycling through the huge vineyards that I feel I am getting paid back for that dreadful ride up to Beaurdoux! It's the France I want to spend 4 months in. At the end of the line, I have a break in Sauveterre and discover that the tourist office, usually open Saturdays, is closed. Sad. But the wifi works so I let Angelique, my Agen host know I am 100 kms away. A little challenging at noon but the roads are nice even if it is a highway. Just racking up the miles and loving the scenery! I put up a video of what my view looks like. It doesn't have the production value of mr. Waldie's toilet cover you tube video but I think it's a good first attempt.
